Sustainability

'There are enough clothes on the planet to dress the next six generations of the human race' - British Fashion Council.

Our aim for TIKU is much bigger than the brand itself. It is to help the push towards a more circular way of enjoying fashion. We want to shift the industry towards a sustainable future through transforming the mindset of how we consume it.

In a world dominated by "fast fashion" and a linear take-make-dispose model, we're proud to champion a more sustainable path: circular fashion through vintage rental.

Renting vintage designer dresses is a powerful step towards a circular economy. Instead of discarding fashion, our aim is to keep beautiful garments in circulation for as long as possible:

 - Extending Lifespans: Every time a vintage dress is rented, its life is extended, directly reducing the demand for new production and the associated environmental impact.

 - Reducing Waste: By re-using existing garments, we divert textiles from landfills, minimising pollution and preserving valuable resources.

-Conserving Resources: No new raw materials, water, or energy are needed to create these pieces – they already exist! This significantly lowers their carbon footprint.

-Sustainable Luxury: You get to enjoy unique, high-quality designer pieces for special occasions at a fraction of the price, without the environmental cost of purchasing new items.

- Not feeding into micro trends: By choosing vintage fashion you are avoiding fuelling micro trends within the industry which often leads to over production and over consumption.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       At Tiku, you're not just renting a dress; you're joining a movement. You are embracing sustainable luxury, extending the life of exquisite fashion, and actively contributing to a circular future for our industry.
